Madrid for Filming: Alcalá de Henares
From Stanley Kubrick’s Spartacus to the latest domestic productions yet to be released—not to mention international series like The Walking Dead or staples of our own television history such as Cuéntame—Alcalá has long been one of the most versatile and sought-after filming locations in the Community of Madrid. Through a series of large-scale original paintings by muralist and urban artist Savelga and Daniel Utrilla—creator of the social media project Madrid para llevar—we will explore some of these iconic sites, all without ever leaving the Santa María La Rica cultural center.
This is a pictorial and audiovisual journey through the history of cinema and our city, presented as part of the LIFT event series dedicated to audiovisual tourism.
