ALCINE YOUTH
In collaboration with Aulafilm / ESFAA
The ALCINE Youth program, curated this year by the Grupo de Trabajo sobre Jóvenes Audiencias de ESFAA (European Short Film Audience Award), once again features an educational guide developed by AULAFILM, one of Spain’s leading projects in film and education.
The ESFAA is a European network that brings together the continent’s major short film festivals to promote European cinema through the eyes of audiences. Each year, the short films that win the Audience Award at their respective national festivals embark on a European tour, where new audiences discover and vote for them—culminating in the presentation of the grand prize in Brussels.
Within this framework, ALCINE Youth presents a selection of three films —Percebes, Cura Sana, and Deux personnes échangeant de la salive (Two People Exchanging Saliva)— that highlight the thematic and aesthetic diversity of contemporary European short cinema. These three works explore key issues for both adolescence and today’s social debate, such as identity, climate change, and the tension between utopia and dystopia.
The AULAFILM educational guide complements the experience before and after the screening, encouraging reflection, critical thinking, and dialogue among young viewers who learn to see European cinema as a tool for understanding and transforming their world.
In addition, this edition of ALCINE Joven offers teachers free of charge:
