Through large-format graphic pieces created for the occasion by Sara Velázquez, whose mural work is present in numerous European cities, accompanied by text, audio, or audiovisual materials, the exhibition will invite visitors to discover historic shoots, trivia, and anecdotes linked to different spaces in the region. The exhibition is designed as a modular, expandable, and traveling project, capable of adapting to different venues and territories. On this occasion, and as a starting point, the itinerary will focus on the city of Alcalá de Henares and its relationship with cinema and audiovisual productions. Likewise, each stop of the traveling exhibition may incorporate materials provided by Film Offices and local institutions, including behind-the-scenes photography, audiovisual archives, props, etc. As a complement to the exhibition, options such as a live site-specific temporary mural created during the exhibition period are being considered, as well as parallel activities linked to film tourism: talks, panel discussions, location routes, and audiovisual workshops. Overall, “Madrid para rodar” proposes an original and contemporary way to connect heritage, tourism, and film memory through illustration and cultural outreach.
