Since 1947, a unique reality has emerged at the amateur theatre Kleines Spiel in Munich, Germany – between puppets, hands, and voices. The film observes the rehearsals as the puppeteers search for rhythm, movement, and expression, culminating in the magical moment in which the puppets come to life.
Senka works across multimedia practices, exploring craft, transculturality, and queerness. In dialogue with the protagonists, they investigate how languages and cultures shape them, as well as the landscapes in which they are rooted and uprooted.
Born in 1993, Senka began beading and writing at the age of six. They have been an alum of the Bavarian Academy of Writing since 2018 and have held artistic fellowships, among others, at the Schreyahn Artists' Colony (Germany) and Villa Sarkia in Sysmä (Finland).
Senka lives in Munich (Germany) and studies documentary film at the University of Television and Film Munich.
