A special evening for all ALCINE-loving families.
We will premiere the piece created in the workshop with Ana Pez, along with a selection of the best short films that have been featured in the ALCINE Kids and Junior sections for schools. The evening will also include the presentation of the award for Best Children’s Short Film, chosen by the CAJE Collective.
All of this accompanied by the techno-pop anthems and videos of BUQUE BÓLIDO
Coming from diverse creative fields —sound art, theatre, radio, performance, audiovisuals, and music— Toña Medina and Christian Fernández Mirón form Buque Bólido, a project through which they experiment with art and education, developing activities specially designed for children and families.
At the ALCINE Kids Gala, they will present a repertoire from their latest show, Escaramuza Fluorescente, which has been selling out performances at Matadero Madrid.
Their songs evoke the arty punk of The White Stripes or the poetic pop of Vainica Doble, the Kraftwerk-style electronic sound, the musical storytelling of Flight of the Conchords, or the playful imagination of Hidrogenesse.
Each song is accompanied by staging and live projection (live cinema), where objects and movements are magnified on screen —making the tiny appear gigantic. A miniature set and a webcam are used to illustrate each theme through a variety of materials and visual games.
