ALCINE, the Alcalá de Henares / Community of Madrid Film Festival, which celebrates its 54th edition from November 6 to 16, is once again launching its ALCINEPHILE Space, where viewers can register until October 24: they can join the jury of the festival's official sections, attend screenings for free, enjoy exclusive meetings and discounts, and many more benefits.
If there's one thing that never fails at ALCINE, it's its ALCINEPHILE community: they never miss an edition of the festival, love voting after screenings, and feel every audience award is their own. To make it official and become part of the ALCINEPHILE Space, simply fill out the form available on the ALCINE website. Registration is now open.
Among its many benefits, membership in the ALCINEPHILE Space grants free access to all official sections: the National Short Film Competition, the European Competition, Open Screen, and the European Audience Award (ESFFA). Furthermore, registered ALCINEPHILE fans will be part of the Audience Jury in all categories and will be able to vote in all the sessions they attend.
Being an official part of the ALCINE 54 community has many more benefits. These include attending the ALCINE 54 Closing Gala, enjoying exclusive discounts at partner establishments during the festival, and getting early access to ALCINE merchandise.
Additionally, in a year when community will be more important than ever, ALCINE fans will have access to ALCINE deNoche: an exclusive meeting point after the screenings, with a bar, DJ programming, and the opportunity to meet the festival team and guests. They will also have access to the ALCINEPHILE Space: a physical space in the halls of the Teatro Salón Cervantes and the Corral de Comedias where they can socialize, discuss the screenings, and, of course, vote.

ALCINE 54 is approaching, and this year's edition, from November 6th to 16th, will have a strong connection to humor, as the festival's artistic director, Pedro Toro, announced to ALCINE Club viewers this week. In addition to other important surprises, this year's ALCINE competition section dedicated to short films and humor, (J)ALCINE, debuts. And in collaboration with the Quevedo Institute of Humor Arts (IQH) of the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá, ALCINE 54 will also premiere the exhibition 'The Other Side of Cinema', featuring works by ten of today's best Spanish cartoonists.
As a preview of all the humor to come, ALCINE Club has dedicated its two screenings this week to a masterpiece of Spanish comedy, Atraco a las tres, and to the creator of Mafalda, Quino, with the biographical documentary Quinografía. and was attended by Miguel López and Aaron Ortega, from Flixolé, responsible for the 4K restoration of José María Forqué's film, and Juan García Cerrada, director of the IQH.
While ALCINE 54 is presented in a humorous tone, fantasy and horror films will also have a place at AL(U)CINE, which in its second edition transforms into a two-day mini-festival with a surprise film, short films in competition, and more new releases that will be revealed soon. And it's moving forward to October 29th and 30th, as a terrifying prelude to ALCINE and Halloween.
In addition to its already established official sections—the National Short Film Competition, the European Competition, Open Screen, and ESFAA, the European Audience Awards—ALCINE will once again organize the Alcalá Film Jam. And, for first-time filmmakers, it is also launching Cantera, the development laboratory for first-time short films.
Music, with the opening concert by Hidrogenesse on November 6th, and Short Music, sessions for professionals, and many other activities await us in Alcalá de Henares from November 6th to 16th at ALCINE 54, with the ALCINEFILA community as our witness.
