Julia (Carmen Maura), a mature woman working at a real estate agency, discovers 300 million hidden in an apartment. She then moves to the apartment above and hides the money, but must face the unhinged neighbors, led by a ruthless building manager (Emilio Gutiérrez Caba), who will do everything possible to keep her there and claim the fortune for himself.
Álex de la Iglesia (born Alejandro de la Iglesia Mendoza, Bilbao, December 4, 1965) is a Spanish film director, screenwriter, and producer.
He studied Philosophy at the University of Deusto. He began his career in the world of comics, drawing for fanzines and magazines, which greatly influenced his visual style.
His first significant short film as a director was Mirindas asesinas (1991), which paved the way for his feature debut, Acción mutante (1993). He gained widespread recognition with The Day of the Beast (1995), a satirical film blending black humor, horror, and fantasy, which won multiple Goya Awards.
