Schools have until October 11 to register for the 'ALCINE Idiomas', 'ALCINE Joven' and 'ALCINE Kids' sections.

ALCINE Education, with its three sections‘Idiomas’‘Joven’ and ‘Kids’, is a fundamental part -and in demand, with 11.000 applications last year- in the programming of the Alcalá de Henares/Comunidad de Madrid Film Festival. The program is aimed at students from elementary school to high school, as well as language school students.

New this year, ALCINE Kids will have two programs, one aimed at the youngest, from kindergarten to 2nd grade, and the other 'Junior', for boys and girls from 8 to 12, which will also have an English version.

This year ALCINE Joven has an added attraction. ALCINE has the privilege of collaborating with Aulafilm, one of the most important film education initiatives in the country, which has curated the program and created an extensive didactic guide and exclusive training with its cultural mediators for participating teachers.

The sessions, which will take place at the Teatro Salón Cervantes, are free of charge, but in order to participate it is essential to register before October 11, through the corresponding online form. Sign up because places are flying!

The sections, in detail:

ALCINE Idiomas

This section is aimed at Foreign Language students in Secondary School, High School and Language Schools. Between October 29 and December 12, short films in English, French and German with subtitles in the same language will be screened at the Salon Theater.

As a novelty this year, one of the ALCINE Idiomas short films has also been included in the didactic guide and teachers will be offered, free of charge, an exclusive three-hour on-site training session with the Aulafilm cultural mediation team. It will take place on Thursday, November 7.

The activity is free, but it is essential to register before October 11, through the ALCINE Idiomas online form. Once the application is received, we will confirm as soon as possible by e-mail. If you have any questions, please contact coordinacion@alcine.org.

ALCINE Joven

Aimed at Secondary and High School students, ALCINE Joven, which will be held at the Teatro Salón Cervantes between November 12 and 21, is an educational support in the curricular programming of high schools. As every year, the screening of the short films is accompanied by valuable work material for the classroom.

It is a 60-minute program with four short fiction and animation films, both Spanish and European (in VOS), which deal with friendship and explore the diversity of relationships and affections during adolescence. As with ALCINE Idiomas, thanks to Aulafilm, teachers will be able to enjoy an exclusive and free 3-hour face-to-face training session with the platform's cultural mediation team on November 7.

To participate in this free activity it is essential to register before October 11 through the online form of ALCINE Joven. Places are limited and will run out soon, so sign up! And if you have any questions, contact coordinacion@alcine.org.

ALCINE Kids

The favorite section of the youngest members of the family will once again meet its audience at the Teatro Salón Cervantes between November 13 and 20. With ALCINE Kids, the festival is at eye level with a selection of short films chosen by children for children, from all over the world and made using the most diverse film techniques.

New this year, this section has three types of sessions:

  • 'Kids'. Short films without dialogue for children in kindergarten and first cycle of primary school (3-7 years old).
  • Junior'. Slightly more complex short films for second and third cycle of Primary School (8-12 years old).
  • Languages Jr'. Children's short films in English, for students from 8 to 12 years old.

Free screenings arranged with schools require registration through the ALCINE Kids online form before October 11.

As places are limited, it is recommended to make a reservation as soon as possible. Once we receive the request for places, we will confirm as soon as possible by email. If you have any questions, please contact us at coordinacion@alcine.org.

In addition to the sessions with educational centers, ALCINE will be scheduling an animation workshop for families and the Best of ALCINE Kids session. You will soon find all the details and the complete program on the ALCINE website.
