Mattie Do is a groundbreaking Lao film director. Born in Los Angeles to Lao refugees, Mattie returned to Vientiane as in 2010. Her film Dearest Sister was Laos’ first submission for the Foreign Language Academy Award. The Long Walk premiered at Venice and earned a best director award at Sitges. Mattie is Laos’ first and only female feature film director.
