A sensorial and emotional journey where memory comes alive through the construction of a map. As the archivists touch and look at the archival material, the people they encounter in those documents cease to be just names and images; they transform into lovers, friends, and guides.
Rebecca Tolosa Gilroy studied Political Anthropology thanks to a scholarship at the University of Roma Tre, specializing in aesthetic representations of pain and misery, as well as the moral economies associated with them. She later studied experimental film and screenwriting.
She wrote the play Tragantona, which premiered at El Umbral de Primavera, and the piece Particulares y patios, which has been programmed in theaters in Madrid, Bilbao, and Malaga. In 2022, she won the Santander Emplea Cultura Award for cultural management and programming projects in Barcelona. That same year, she received the Premi Joves Creadores de La Bonne and the Premi Dones Visuals for the documentary project "Una imagen (im)posible", a short film that hacks photographs of her personal archives giving family situations of psychological suffering.
She is the co-writer of the short films Irremplazable (2024, winner of the Best Experimental Film Award at the Seville Film Festival) and Agápe (currently in production) and the screenwriter of the series La fatiga de ser Mabel, currently in development.
She is an archivist at the Ca la Dona Documentation Center.
