Janina Hüttenrauch is a German director and screenwriter specializing in fiction and documentary films. She earned a Master’s degree in Film Direction from the Hamburg Media School in 2024.
She began her career directing short films and documentaries, including Toys and Der andere Weg, the latter winning the Bavarian Youth Film Award. Her documentary Maria Prean – Life Gets Better and Better received the Silver Crown Award at the International Christian Visual Media Association Film Festival in Nashville.
Hüttenrauch has also worked as a first assistant director for renowned filmmakers and has directed several award-winning short films, including Please Don’t Tap on the Glass (2024) and What’s Wrong with You (2025). Her work focuses on emotionally compelling and socially relevant narratives, blending fiction and documentary.
