Quirijn Dees is a sound designer, music producer and animator. He was born in Eindhoven, The Netherlands in 1998. Quirijn started producing electronic music around the age of fifteen. This interest grew and at the age of eighteen, Quirijn started his Sonology Bachelor at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Sonology is a study focused on the composition of experimental music and electronic sound. It was here that Quirijn became interested in audiovisual composition and animation. During the studies Quirijn also started experimenting with creative coding in both visual and sonic fields. Additionally, Quirijn started working with digital cut-out animation. After finishing his Sonology Bachelor, he decided to follow a Bachelor in Animation at KASK in Gent, Belgium. Here, he became acquainted with digital 3D-animation and he started creating his first experimental, as well as narrative films using digital 3D-animation, digital cut-out animation and creative coding. Quirijn graduated from KASK in 2023 with his film Pubert Jimbob, which was subsequently completed in 2024. Currently, Quirijn is following a Master’s course in Animation at HSLU in Luzern, Switzerland.
