JEANNE & JEAN JEAN

Thanys Martin is a French filmmaker, born in 2000, known for her distinctive approach to animation and her critique of consumer society. She studied at the Atelier de Sèvres, where she developed a style characterized by 1970s-inspired illustrations, fractured perspectives, and flat colors. Her work often uses magazine clippings and advertisements to create narratives exploring themes such as love, consumerism, and social satire.

In 2024, she directed the animated short Jeanne & Jean Jean, a 7-minute comedy produced by Atelier de Sèvres. The film follows a couple, Jeanne and Jean Jean, as they question whether they are meant to be together while exploring a furniture store. The short has been selected for international festivals including Animafest Zagreb and the Tirana Film Festival, and has been praised for its visual style and social commentary.

Besides Jeanne & Jean Jean, Thanys Martin has worked on projects such as Autopsie d’un repas (2023) and Recevoir en peignoir (2023), taking on roles in directing, writing, animation, editing, and visual effects.
