At the next edition of ALCINE, without giving away any spoilers, humor will be a major focus. And in the countdown to its 54th edition, the Alcalá de Henares / Community of Madrid Film Festival will temporarily take over the ALCINE Club screen next week to exclusively preview part of its programming for the Complutense audience.
To warm up, next Wednesday the 24th, at 6:00 and 8:30 p.m., Fernando Galindo and his cronies will storm the Teatro Salón Cervantes with Atraco a las tres, a classic of Spanish cinema, restored and screened in collaboration with the Flixolé platform and the FlixOlé-URJC Chair of Spanish Cinema, which will present the final session. The unforgettable cast, led by José Luis López Vázquez, Cassen, and Gracita Morales, will be joined the following day by the illustrious creator of Mafalda: Quino.
The documentary Quinografía captures previously unseen moments and interviews with the brilliant Argentine thinker, cartoonist, and comic book creator, along with testimonies from family and friends such as Joan Manel Serrat and Jorge Valdano. The session coincides with the 32nd International Humor Arts Exhibition and also celebrates the twenty-fifth anniversary of his appointment as Honorary Professor of Humor at the University of Alcalá and his being awarded the QUEVEDOS Ibero-American Graphic Humor Prize. It is part of the new collaboration between ALCINE and the Quevedo Institute of Humor Arts (IQH), which expands the already extensive partnership between the festival and the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá.
The session, with two screenings on Thursday the 25th, at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., both at the Teatro Salón Cervantes, will feature the presence of the director of the IQH, Juan García Cerrada, and the artistic director of ALCINE, Pedro Toro, who will give a preview of the programming for the ALCINE-loving public present.
Already in October, just a few weeks before the festival kicks off, a new exclusive screening and preview of ALCINE 54 will take place with the presentation of the Spanish Oscar nominee, Sirât, by Oliver Laxe. It will be held again at 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM, on October 22 and 23, at the Teatro Salón Cervantes, with the ALCINE team and many surprises.
The countdown to ALCINE 54: 3, 2, 1... has begun!
