An Iranian girl has been recording the palm tree in front of her house in north Spain in the city of Avilés for some time. From the stories that her mother had told her about the palm trees, she finds them similar to human beings and she worries about this palm tree since she feels that it´s suffering from something. During her search for answers she will discover another different story of the life of palm trees in Europe. As she progresses in her observation, these two realities of Middleast and West are brought into relation.
Originally from Iran, Maryam Harandi has created a cinematic career marked by cultural diversity. After her studies in Spain, she settled in Asturias where she has worked as an intercultural mediator, accompanying refugees in their integration process. Her personal experiences as an Iranian immigrant and her adolescence in the Middle East, have led her to develop a cinema committed to the representation of opressed voices and creating bridges between different realities.
