In 2018, a group of filmmakers, calling themselves 'The Motionless', embarks on an essay film about a hypothetical stillness syndrome in the Republic of Colombia.
León Siminiani is a screenwriter and director. He has explored different formats and genres in eight short films and two feature-length documentaries halfway between daily cinema and film essay: Mapa (2012) and Notes for a film of assault (2018), both nominated for the Goya in the Best Documentary category. . He has also written and directed two documentary television series for platforms El Casso Asunta (Atresmedia/Netflix, 2016) and The Alcasser Murders (Netflix, 2019). In 2022, 800 will premiere, a new documentary television series for Netflix about the 17A attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils. While preparing his third feature film for cinemas, in recent years he has been immersed in the slow gestation of two short films The Stillness Syndrome (2021, Fugas Documenta Madrid Award 2021 and Best Alcine Short Film 2021) and Emotional Architecture 1959 (to be released in 2022), that mark his return to the territory of essay film.
