Saturday. Nightfall. The ball travels quickly across the court as the players move to take advantage of gaps in the defense. Lucía, twenty-five years old, leaves handball training and sets off to pick up her brother under the lights of a city she thinks she knows.
Álvaro graduated in Audiovisual Communication and Music in Spain, studied theatre in Chicago and film in London. His first two short films, Curricán and Bombolles, are shown and win awards at several film festivals. His next short film, Matria, wins the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and a Goya nomination. In 2018 he released Trote, Xacio Baño's first feature film and Marcos Marino's second film, In Memoriam. His latest fiction short film, 16 de decembro, premiered at the Locarno Festival. He is making his first feature film, Matria, with Avalon PC, Ringo Media and Matriuska Producciones.
