Bong Joon-ho
Bong Joon-ho is a film director and screenwriter South Korea. Born in Daegu in 1969 and decided to become a filmmaker while attending middle school, perhaps influenced by an artistic family. In 1994 he directed the short film 'White People'. His first feature film 'Barking Dogs Never Bite', part comedy and part cruel social satire, is launched reaching low box office numbers. His next film is 'Memories of Murder' based on the true story of the first serial murderer known in the country's history, reaching commercial and critical success. His 2006 film "The Host" is a devastating success both domestically (the South-Korean highest grossing film to date) and internationally (receiving wide critical acceptance after the premiere at the Cannes Film Festival). His latest film is 'Snowpiercer' starring Chris Evans.
