Among the works included in the 2023 Catalog there are series and feature films of fiction, animation and documentaries, among them a film directed by Fernando Colomo, winner at ALCINE in 1971 and who attended the presentation today

 

A production directed by Fernando Colomo, the long-awaited new feature films by Rodrigo Sorogoyen or Alauda Ruíz de Azua and a feature film with such well-known faces as Eduardo Noriega and Belén Rueda are some of the audiovisual projects financed by the Community of Madrid during 2023 within the program 'Madrid for Talent', which this morning was presented at the Old Hospital of Santa María la Rica in Alcalá de Henares, within the programming of ALCINE, the Alcalá de Henares / Community of Madrid film festival.

The Consejería of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Community of Madrid financed a total of 30 projects during 2023: 16 fiction feature films, 4 fiction series, 2 animated feature films, 5 feature-length documentaries and 3 documentary series, which received a total of aid for an amount of 750,000 euros.

“For us, development is essential, because it is the seed of future projects, and we can say that the aid from the Community of Madrid is among the best at a national level,” indicated the general director of Culture and Creative Industries during the presentation. of the Community of Madrid, Gonzalo Cabrera, who has advanced that "in this year 2024 the Community of Madrid has reached three times as many projects as in 2023, supporting more than 90."

“Today we celebrate a catalog full of projects that will soon fill our screens. Thanks to your effort, passion and vision, what begins as just paper and words is transformed into films that move, entertain and leave a mark," Santiago Alonso, Councilor for Culture of Alcalá de Henares, told the attendees. highlighted the importance of events such as ALCINE, organized by the Alcalá de Henares City Council and the Community of Madrid, and with funding from the Ministry of Culture, and initiatives such as the Alcalá Film Office.

The presentation of the catalog was attended by many of the producers of the works included in the 2023 Catalog of Audiovisual Projects of 'Madrid for Talent', who briefly presented their works, currently in different phases of production. Among them, Fernando Colomo, director of Las delicias del Jardín, one of the projects included in the catalogue, who recalled his award in the second edition of ALCINE, in 1971, for the short film Sssoufle.

“ALCINE is the one that gave me the first prize of my entire career, which was a Golden Quixote. We are talking about the year 70 or 71 and I was doing my military service and I had to ask for permission to come and collect the prize,” he said. commented Colomo.
