It's nine in the morning on a hot summer day in the Madrid neighborhood of Usera. Paco, Ramón and Andrade, three friends who have been unemployed since the company where they worked closed, have agreed to execute a plan. When they finally meet, a setback prevents them from leaving the house: the car they needed to get around is broken down. As they search for another way to reach their destination, they are involved in a series of awkward discussions that will slowly tear down their walls and tear off their masks.
Polo Menárguez is a fiction and documentary film director, with a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Carlos III University of Madrid. He is an independent filmmaker, screenwriter and producer with extensive experience in television entertainment programs such as "Masterchef" and "Masterchef JR." In 2008 he made his debut as director and screenwriter with the short "La culona", and a year later he recorded in Tulsa (Oklahoma) the experimental documentary "Eric Likes Chicken", selected at Documenta Madrid. In 2013 he directed "Dos amigos", an experimental film halfway between fiction and documentary, which competed in the Resistances section of the Seville Festival. "Winter in Europe", his first documentary feature film, receives a special mention from the jury of the DOC.España section at the 62nd Seminci. In 2019 "El plan", his second fiction feature.
