    Javier Ruiz Caldera

Javier (Viladecans, 1976) graduated in 2000 from ESCAC and in 2001 wrote and directed the short film 'Treitum', which was awarded by more than 60 awards in national and international competitions, including the Biznaga of the Malaga Festival. An intelligent, crazy and ironic portrait of childhood, shot with an aesthetic similar to video clips.
In the following years, he combines his work as an advertising director with the editor of several feature films such as 'Bosque de sombra', by Koldo Serra, 'Parque via', by Enrique Rivero, or 'El frasco', by Alberto Lecchi.
He is also the first Spanish filmmaker to dare to parody the great national successes that have conquered the Spanish box office. With a screenplay by Paco Cabezas, 'Spanish Movie', his first feature film, which remains for two weeks at number one in the Spanish box office, and which obtained two nominations for the Goya Awards, also involved as spoof movie that prior to its premiere already gave a lot to talk about, thanks to the viral posted on YouTube, in which Leslie Nielsen and Chiquito de la Calzada participate.
In 2011 his second work for the big screen, 'Phantom Promotion', was released, with a great reception at festivals such as Toronto and awarded at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. In 2013 he premiered 'Tres bodas de más', which became the most rated film of the year and gathered 7 Goya nominations. In 2015 he shoots "Anacleto, agente secreto", starring Quim Gutiérrez and Imanol Arias, in 2017 he shoots the adaptation of the comic "SuperLópez" starring Dani Rovira and in 2019 the movie "Malnazidos".
