Mildred Hayes, a women in her 50s, whose adolescent daughter was raped and killed, decides to initiate by herself a war against the police offiver of her village, Ebbing, considering him not suffienctly investigating to solve the case and to do justice. Her first step is to rent some billboards, exposing the situation and portraying the head of the police, William Willoughby, as the main responsible for the passivity of the police.
Born in 1970 in London, United Kingdom. He is a dramaturgist and direcor of anglo irish cinema. He was in the beginning known for his high brutality and the cineamtograpic style of some of his theatre plays. He is considered as having cultivated a extreme side of theatre of cruelty, known as In-yer-face, which stands out for its violent aspects and the grotesque of the works to gain the spectator´s attention.
