Six years after the violent death of her husband, Amelia (Essie Davis) has not recovered yet, but has to educate Samuel (Noah Wiseman), her six- year-old who lives terrorized by a monster who appears in dreams and threatens to kill them. When a disturbing story book called 'The Babadook' appears at home, Samuel is convinced that the Babadook is the creature he has been dreaming. Then his hallucinations become uncontrollable and behavior, unpredictable and violent. Amelia, each time more afraid, is forced to medicate him. But suddenly she begins to feel around a sinister presence that suggests that fears your child could be real.


Jennifer Kent
Jennifer Kent is an Australian actress and filmmaker known for her film debut: 'The Babadook'. After seeing 'Dancer in the Dark' by Lars von Trier she decides to start his career as a director. After contacting the filmmaker, Trier hires her as an assistant during the filming of 'Dogville'. In 2005 she directed his first short film, 'Monster', which ten years later was adapted to the big screen by Kent under the title 'The Babadook'. The film was played by Essie Davis. The film was screened at the Sundance Film Festival.
