Germany 1942: In order to protect her son, Marianne Meissner tried to make him believe that the Jewish neighbors are going on a journey to 'Toyland'. One morning her son has disappeared - the Jewish neighbors too.


Jochen Alexander Freydank
Jochen Alexander was born in East Berlin in 1967. He started his career in the early 90s as an editor and assistant director for various television and film productions. In 1999, after five rejections from film schools, he decided to set up his own film production company, Mephisto Film. He directed several award-winning short films. Parallel to his work as a short film director, Jochen Alexander wrote screenplays for several TV movies. 'Kafka's The Burrow' is his feature film debut.
