Daniela forever, the latest feature film by Nacho Vigalondo, was the surprise film at ALCINE 53 screened on Saturday night in a packed Tetro Salón Cervantes. We also had Vigalondo himself, with whom the audience enjoyed a discussion after the film.
After the success achieved last year by the surprise showing of Un amor, by Isabel Coixet, before its theatrical release, ALCINE 53 has repeated in this edition the experience with the long-awaited latest film by Vigalondo, premiered in Toronto and at the last Festival from Sitges, and whose premiere in Spain is not scheduled until 2025.
The session was a unique opportunity to see Vigalondo's latest international production with a cast from series like The White Lotus or Crazy Rich Asians before anyone else. A fantastic romantic tragicomedy about the power of dreams from the hand of one of our most unclassifiable authors.
After the discussion, the audience at the Teatro Salón Cervantes was able to chat with Vigalondo about possible alternative endings that were considered in the script and about decisions such as locating the film in Madrid or shooting part of the film in Betacam.
