Where did the idea come from for such an unusual story?
I wanted to make a gay film in the countryside. Wrestling is our national sport in Iceland. It is a bit erotic so I tried to use the sport as a metaphor for their relationship.

Is it posible to discuss more universal themes through wrestling?
Basically, instead of showing them making love, I show them wrestling.

How important was it to play with contrasts in the film?
This sport is very nationalistic, related with the 'macho' culture, so many people in Iceland are a bit angry...

What is the current state of the icelandic short film industry?
There are lots of films coming from Iceland, but the general public doesn't like short films. They think short films are second class.
