Zero Screen. New (underground) currents in Spanish cinema

Cinema today is no longer a luxury only a few of can afford. A few years ago getting a feature film production off the ground required a huge budget, the leasing of expensive equipment, a costly editing process, complex laboratory work, and major production teams. Now none of that is essential. Digital technology is bringing with it new short and feature film productions from wide ranging locations. Minimal costs, reflex photographic cameras, and limited equipment in general, means a growing number of feature films are being made at the margins of the industry.

With a view to bringing several of these films together, to get to know the people behind them, and so they can share their experiences with their audiences, we have set up Zero Screen, a space devoted to feature films, which is competitive but where the only jury is the audience. Caídos, Faraday, Gente en sitios, La tumba de Bruce Lee , Investigación policial and two films from #Littlesecretfilms are the unreleased feature films waiting to be discovered at ALCINE.

From the 12th to the 15th of November, the Santa María la Rica events hall will be used for talks and debates. And after that, the Corral de Comedias will host the screenings, not only of feature films, but also of previews and new proposals. A unique opportunity to get to know new (underground) currents in Spanish cinema first hand.
