Alauda Ruiz de Azúa

Alauda Ruiz de Azúa (Barakaldo, 1978) studied Audiovisual Communication and English Philology in the Basque Country. After graduating, she moved to Madrid where she graduated in Film Direction from the ECAM in 2005. successful debut in the short film world obtaining more than 30 awards.

After school, she worked as an assistant director and scripter, until she made the leap to advertising production in 2007. Until today, she has combined her advertising career with her more personal work in the format of short film Among her short films, it is worth mentioning: "Dicen" (They Say, 2011), which participated in more than 160 festivals and won 50 awards, being the most awarded Spanish short of its year. Or her penultimate short film, "Nena" (2011), which competed at the Austin Film Festival.

Her short films have been selected in more than 400 national and international festivals and have won more than 100 awards. Cinco lobitos is her first feature film as a screenwriter and director, selected in the Panorama section of the Berlinale (2022).
