A remote and mysterious island in New England in the 1890s. Veteran lighthouse keeper Thomas Wake and his young assistant Ephraim Winslow must live together for four weeks. Their objective will be to keep the lighthouse in good condition until the relay arrives that allows them to return to land. But things get complicated when conflicts arise over hierarchies of power between the two.
Robert Eggers, is an American film director, screenwriter, and production designer. Eggers began his career as a designer and director of stage productions in New York before making his first horror feature 'The Witch' which was critically acclaimed. He is currently shooting his next film 'The Northman'
