At the height of WWI, two young British soldiers, Schofield and Blake, are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory to deliver a message that will prevent a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers, including Blake's own brother.
British film and theatre director, born in Reading (Berkshire, England). Part of his family is originally from Portugal. He studied at Cambridge University; as a stage director he is well known for his 1998 production of "Cabaret" (musical) starring Alan Cumming. As a film director, he became very popular with his debut film "American Beauty" (1999), which won him an Academy Award for Best Director.
