All rooms in Hostal España, a modest guesthouse located in the centre of the city of Leon, are occupied by elder people. Many of them come from the abandoned rural areas that surround the city.
‘Hostal España’ has been developed by Laav_ and directed by Chus Domínguez together with Inma Álvarez and the staff and residents at Hostal España. Laav_ is a space for research and creation with communities developed from the Deac Musac.
Chus Dominguez, a visual artist who uses video and film as tools and documentary as language. He works with elements coming directly from reality to construct fictions, between documentary, experimental film and poetry. His videos and film pieces have participated at numerous international festivals.
