This is the story of Pol, a fifteen-year-old boy who is having trouble dealing with the recent death of his father. Pol’s brother, Ricard, returns home and forcibly assumes the role of a father figure in Pol’s life, much to Pol’s dismay. After the funeral, Pol and Ricard embark on a fishing trip in Pol’s dinghy and the confines of the boat force the two brothers to come to terms with their unsettled disputes. The two must work together and put their differences aside when Ricard hooks a Tuna and is unable to reel it in without the help of his brother.

Martí Dols Roca

Martí Dols and Joe Ryan Laia met during the Screenwriting Masters at London Film School. They both decided to unite to shoot the shortfilm the former had written during the course. In Marti’s case, Distinction at the Masters because of his feature script, it was his first film. Ryan had already directed two short films before this one. Martí works as a book and script reporter and is based in London where he still writes and works in his own projects. Ryan lives in L.A and aside from script reporting, is beginning an acting career as well as writing and directing when time allows. Even though they come from different backgrounds, they make a great team which has resulted in this ambitious and personal short film.
