Auschwitz, 1944. Saul Auslander is a Hungarian prisoner who works in one of the crematoria of Auschwitz. He is forced to burn all the bodies of the inhabitants from his own village but, using his moral, he tries to save from the flames the body of a young boy whom he believes his son and to find a rabbi to bury him decently.
László was born in Budapest in 1977. After directing his first 35-mm short film, 'With a Little Patience' (2007), he moved to New York to study Film Directing. His debut feature film, 'Son of Saul', was screened in the main competition at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prix. He is the first Hungarian director whose film has won a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film.
