Began as director of short films together with fellow director Santi Amodeo Seville. 'Preface to highlight a history of roads' (1998), Best Short Andaluz according to the Association of Writers and Critics Andaluces, and 'Banks' (1999), Audience Award at Locarno and Silver Dragon Award for Best Film at the Cracow Film Festival. In 2000, Rodríguez-tandem Amodeo wrote and directed the feature film 'The Pilgrim factor', comedy shot entirely in London, which won the Special Jury Award at the New Filmmakers Film Festival in San Sebastian.
