For the first time in his life, a victim of heart problems, Daniel Blake, 59 years old English carpenter, has to ask for the social assistance. The administration forces him to look for a job, if he does not want to receive a penalty. In the 'job center' Daniel meets Rachel, a single mother of two children who had to accept an accommodation that is situated in 450 km from the city to prevent a trasladation to a foster home. Prisoners of the current administrative aberrations of Britain, Daniel and Rachel try to help each other.
