Being a soldier isn't difficult: either you get used to it or they kill you. The hardest thing is getting used to living with your memories and being yourself again after doing what you've done.
Esteban (Madrid, 1971) began his career as a filmmaker and screenwriter in the world of documentary, making numerous works for television. Later he becomes a content advisor and analyst of children's programs at TVE. He combined these works with the direction of the short films 'Siempre quise trabajar en una fábrica', 'Amar', 'Fin' and 'Lala', nominated for Best Fiction Short Film at the 2010 Goya Awards, and 'Nadie tiene la culpa', Jury Prize at the Montreal International Film Festival in 2011. His short film 'Aquel no era yo' won the 2013 Goya Award for Best Fiction Short Film and has received dozens of national and international awards. The short was a 2014 Oscar nominee for Best Fiction Short Film. He is a member of the Platform of new filmmakers. In 2017 he premiered his first feature film, which he has as a title, as well as his short film, 'Amar'. In 2019 directs 'Black Beach'.
