A man and a woman discover one another, taking off their skin as an act of intimacy. They're interrupted by two children who innocently attend this School of Love.



Mercedes Peris

Mercedes Peris (Valencia, Spain, 1984) focus her artistic work in animation, drawing and painting. She has made several exhibitions, like “Sound vs Sense: Intersections” at ICNY- Cervantes Institute New York and the exhibition “Skin”, organised by the London Wellcome Trust and CSIC-Spain (Spanish National Research Council). She has screened “Black Mirror Dream” (audiovisual made with the sound artist Ferrer-Molina) in Experimental Intermedia (2017, Nueva York), and she has realised the staging for the Spanish premiere of the opera “Vrač” composed by Ivo Medek (2016, Spanish Association R&D Dance and Research, and Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art Spanish Association).

She is animation filmaker and she has work in the creation of several animated films. Nowadays her most relevant work is “Libidinis” (directed together with Rosa Peris). This film has been selected and screened at many film festivals (national as well as international competitions), like the programme “Best of the World” at Hiroshima International Animation Festival 2012. She has got several awards (Catàleg Curts 2011-Valencian Institute of Audiovisual and Cinema, Barcelona Visual Sound 2012 and AniMazSpot  2012-California, among other).

Mercedes Peris is PhD Doctor in Fine Arts (Polytechnic University of Valencia-UPV 2016). She has been teaching Drawing of Movement and Animation at UPV (2008-2014).

Rosa Peris Mendina

Rosa Peris (Valencia, Spain, 1984) is draughtswoman, filmmaker, animation producer and dancer. She has got several awards, the most relevant of them is the Fontevraud Abbey Award in the Project Competition at the Festival Internacional de Cinema d’Animation d’Annecy, that gave her the Residency of Animation Scriptwriting at the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud (France, 2012).

Her films has been awarded and screened in more than one hundred film festivals, among others: Hiroshima International Animation Festival, AniFest-Czech Republic, Monstra-Lisbon Animated Film Festival, ALCINE-Alcalá de Henares Film Festival and AniMazSpot (California). Her film 'Libidinis' (directed together with Mercedes Peris) was a commissioned work for the exhibition SKIN (2010), curated by the researcher Javier Moscoso and organised by the London Wellcome Trust and CSIC-Spanish National Research Council.

Rosa Peris is PhD Doctor in Fine Arts (Polytechnic University of Valencia-UPV 2015). She focused her thesis in the expressivity of movement in animation. She did part of her PhD at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM), at Germany, where she studied animation with the artist Raimund Krumme (2012).

She has been teaching Drawing of Movement and Animation at UPV (2007-2013).
