The Comunidad de Madrid Short Film Week, also at ALCINE

On Wednesday the 21^st of May in Alcalá, two sessions of the Short Film Exhibit will be held in the Events Hall of Santa María la Rica at 18:30 and 21:00. Entry is free. Six recent short films will be screened, including some old friends of ALCINE, such as the filmmakers Vicente Villanueva, Alaúda Ruiz de Azúa and Zoe Berriatúa, all of whom have won prizes in past Festivals. The exhibit will also include the latest short film by Gracia Querejeta, Cordelias.

A young opera director returns to the island of her birth after losing her family in strange circumstances. As in Mozart’s 'Magic Flute’, she must pass through three doors to be forgiven, and to begin again.

Ten female prisoners doing time for different crimes organize a theatre production as therapy for their problems, to enable their reintegration and potential release from prison, and to travel from village to village all over Spain.

The actress María Fornell has just played “Lysistrata” for the last time. Locked in her dressing room she won’t let go of the character, and doesn’t want to collect the prize she is to be awarded that night. Her girlfriend and make-up artist, Silvia, tries to convince her to attend the ceremony.
