Searching for the light on ALCINE nights

When night begins to fall, ALCINE audiences are transformed, and start to seek out a little extra on top of the short films and screenings. To quench this thirst, we have set up a range of activities for the nighthawks and thrill seekers in the audience. First up on Friday the 8th is the Golfomaratón Comedy Show. The same old golfomaratón with some of the year’s funniest short films, but this time round joined by monologues. Dani Piqueras, Pilar de Francisco and More MEro are here to provide a foil for the screenings with their hair-brained but entertaining stories.

And music is centre stage at another classic night out at ALCINE. This year in miniature format, with a concert of concerts on the night of Saturday the 9th in the Corral de Comedias. Tumba-Swing, a one-man Scrap-Metal Blues band, Javi Álvarez, with a performance created especially for this night of music, and Amy Jo Doh & The Beat Doctor bringing us the glitteriest offering of the night. And if you still want more, outside the walls of the corral, the DJ de la Muerte, another of Javi Álvarez’s pseudonyms, will keep the music playing long into the night.

Last year, the ALCINE closing party was marked by the unique humour of Miguel Noguera. This year, the close is in the hands of that one-of-a-kind and singular expert in monologues: Ignatius Farray. You have seen him on Paramount Comedy and La hora Chanante. And on Friday the 15th, he will be in the Corral de Comedias, for the grand finale.
